Further, in 2016, Yuvraj Singh was bought by the Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 7 crore and had several successful seasons with them, scoring 488 points in 22 matches and averaging a much better score of 27.11.

Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins is an Australian all-rounder who broke into the IPL in 2020 when the Kolkata Knight Riders acquired him for a whopping amount of INR 15.5 crore, making him the most expensive overseas acquisition the league has ever seen. Kolkata Knight Riders had earlier bought him back in 2014 for INR 5.4 crore but he had to leave the tournament early due to an injury.

In 2021, Cummins was picked up by Royal Challengers Bangalore for a more modest sum of INR 10 crore, but he was released by the team in May of that year.

Kyle Jamieson
